Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Mechanic / Vehicle Technician to carry out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a range of vehicles, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in line with health & safety and manufacturer guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on cars and/or light commercial vehicles
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment
  • Complete MOT preparation and repairs (if qualified)
  • Replace or repair faulty parts including brakes, clutches, suspension, exhausts, and timing components
  • Conduct vehicle inspections and report on condition and required work
  • Ensure all work is completed efficiently and accurately
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment
  • Complete job cards and service records accurately
  • Adhere to all health & safety procedures and company policies
  • Provide a high level of workmanship and customer service

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven experience as a Mechanic / Vehicle Technician
  • Relevant qualifications (NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent)
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work to deadlines and manage workload effectively

Desirable (but not essential)

  • MOT Tester licence
  • Experience with diagnostics software
  • Experience working on commercial vehicles or fleet work
  • Manufacturer or dealership experience

Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence
  • Own tools (if applicable)
  • Good understanding of health & safety in a workshop environment
