We are seeking a skilled and reliable Mechanic / Vehicle Technician to carry out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a range of vehicles, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in line with health & safety and manufacturer guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on cars and/or light commercial vehicles
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment
- Complete MOT preparation and repairs (if qualified)
- Replace or repair faulty parts including brakes, clutches, suspension, exhausts, and timing components
- Conduct vehicle inspections and report on condition and required work
- Ensure all work is completed efficiently and accurately
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment
- Complete job cards and service records accurately
- Adhere to all health & safety procedures and company policies
- Provide a high level of workmanship and customer service
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience as a Mechanic / Vehicle Technician
- Relevant qualifications (NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent)
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work to deadlines and manage workload effectively
Desirable (but not essential)
- MOT Tester licence
- Experience with diagnostics software
- Experience working on commercial vehicles or fleet work
- Manufacturer or dealership experience
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence
- Own tools (if applicable)
- Good understanding of health & safety in a workshop environment
