The successful candidate will be responsible for finishing, sanding, polishing, and repairing GRP components to ensure they meet high-quality standards. This role involves using various hand and power tools to achieve a smooth, glossy, and aesthetically pleasing surface on GRP products used in automotive, construction and bathrooms. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, excellent manual dexterity, and experience working with composite materials.

Key Responsibilities:

- Surface Preparation: Prepare GRP surfaces for finishing by cleaning, degreasing, filling, and sanding to remove imperfections, ensuring surfaces are smooth and ready for further processing.

- Sanding and Grinding: Use manual and power sanding tools to shape and smooth GRP surfaces. This includes using different grades of sandpaper to achieve the desired finish.

- Polishing: Operate polishing equipment to buff GRP components to a high-gloss finish. Ensure that all parts meet the specified quality and visual standards.

- Repair Work: Identify and repair any defects, scratches, or inconsistencies in the GRP surfaces, including filling gaps, applying resin, and sanding out imperfections.

- Application of Gel Coats and Primers: Apply gel coats, primers, and other coatings to GRP surfaces as required, using spray guns and other appropriate tools to ensure even application.

- Quality Control: Inspect finished products for quality, ensuring all components meet company standards and customer specifications. Document and report any issues or defects.

- Tool Maintenance: Maintain and care for all tools and equipment used in the finishing process. Report any maintenance issues to the supervisor.

- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) such as masks, gloves, and goggles as required.

- Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, including laminators, fabricators, and painters, to ensure seamless production processes and high-quality output.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in GRP finishing, polishing, or a related field involving composite materials.

- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using hand tools (sanders, grinders, polishers) and power tools. Experience with gel coats and resin application is highly desirable.

- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to notice defects and imperfections, ensuring all products are finished to the highest standard.

- Manual Dexterity: Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual skills to work with small and intricate parts.

- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, bend, and work for extended periods. Must be capable of lifting heavy materials as required.

- Safety Awareness: Knowledge of health and safety regulations, including the proper use of PPE and handling of hazardous materials.

- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve finishing issues independently.

- Communication Skills: Good verbal communication skills to effectively interact with team members and supervisors.

- Adaptability: Willingness to learn new techniques and adapt to changes in materials and finishing processes.
